Guelph-Eramosa council has approved another cycling event on township roads, but has expressed concern with continually disrupting the lives of the same people in a certain area.

Councillors last week okayed the May 29 Food Cycle Ride (proceeds to the Centre Wellington Food Bank) along Marden Road, Mill Road, Jones Baseline, and Sideroad 20.

But several councillors said they are concerned about repeatedly inconveniencing residents by closing roads in that area. The township has already approved at least two other cycling events in the area.

“We need to mitigate the impact on residents,” said Mayor Chris White. He added council needs to discuss the issue in general at another time.
