Council authorizes $5,000 for garbage cans

Councillors here approved a recommendation to authorize spending of up to $5,000 for garbage cans for downtown Erin on Aug. 13.

The funds for the BIA to make the purchase will come from “streetscape resources.”

The move followed a delegation from the BIA including Shelley Foord who stressed the need for additional garbage cans.

Mayor Lou Maieron said the older garbage cans will be removed and replaced.

He said that the group be given $5,000 and “they buy as many garbage cans as they can.”
