COTTON, Lavern, of Arthur passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Arthur on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Garbutt) Cotton (2012). Dear father of Dan (Willaby) Cotton of Arthur, Debbie (Mark) Homer of Arthur, Laura Cotton of Arthur, Brenda (Greg) Johnson of Powassan, Leanne (David) Menzies of Petrolia and Lisa (Ken) Wuensch of Arthur. Loving grandfather (Papa) of Dennis, Sharon, Troy, Shane, Dean, Ryan, Ian, Nicole, Courtney and Darryl. Sadly missed by his great grandchildren Drew, Blair, MacKenzie, Aiden, Evan, Tegan, Avery, Landon, Rowan, EllaMarlee, Bennett, Rayleigh, Levi, Kinsley, Brendan and Thomas. Brother of Marie Horan, Jean Still (Robie) and Joan Moffat (Herb). Fondly remembered by his extended family, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents William and Bertha (Holmes) Cotton and brother Harold Cotton. The family received friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Rev. Ed Charlton conducted the Funeral Service in the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Arthur on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Arthur Optimist Splash Pad project would be appreciated by the family.
