Community grants

Fourteen grants, totaling $12,450, were distributed to different organizations in Centre Wellington on May 14 by the Centre Wellington Community Foundation. Grants were given to Wellington 4-H for its breakfast project, Strong Start, and letters, sounds and words project; Elora Centre for the Arts for its creating art project; Children Foundation for its free to grow project; Elora Environmental Centre for its natural gems project; Portage for its community engagement project; Elora Centre for the Arts/Sero Studies; Centre Wellington Food Bank for the healthy takeout soup project; Community Resource Centre for backpacks and school supplies and other projects; Township of Centre Wellington/Elora Arts Council for the Planet Youth project; Grand Abilities Art for a mural and bird feeders project; and Big Brother Big Sisters for its camp URU project.     Photo by Bill Longshaw
