Community garage sale supporting local foodbank
FERGUS – Local community members are set to host a community wide indoor garage sale in support of the Centre Wellington Foodbank.
The event will take place April 18 at the Masonic Hall, 310 St. Andrews St. E., from 9am to 3pm.
“We’ve got the inside all filled out,” said co-organizer Miranda Oosterveld.
There will be a total of 13 vendors inside the building, with more stationed outside.
Oosterveld told the Advertiser there will be a large variety of items for sale, including but not limited to household items, baseball cards, candles, antiques and furniture.
While the event is not a cash only event, organizers strongly encourage those attending to bring cash.
There is no admission fee to the event, however cash and food items are welcomed as donations towards the food bank.
Organizers are hopeful this event will become a regular part of the community as organizers say they have received lots of enthusiasm from the community.
Any items left at the end of the day from vendors will be split between the New to You Thrift Store, Mission Thrift and the Fergus Habitat for Humanity location.
