ELORA – In celebration of Earth Day, Teghan Keating of Tk Creative is encouraging sustainability and conscious consumption by putting together a swap.
The Sparrow’s Nest maker-space, at the Elora Centre for the Arts, will be home to a community-driven Clothing, Yarn and Fabric Swap on April 23, inviting locals to refresh their wardrobes and craft stashes without spending a dime.
Hosted at Sparrow’s Nest Elora, the event is all about sustainability, creativity, and connection.
Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used clothing, fabric, yarn and craft supplies to exchange for new-to-them treasures.
Whether you’re a fashion lover, an avid crafter, or simply looking to reduce your environmental footprint, this swap offers something for everyone, officials say.
“This is about giving items a second life and showing that everything you need already exists – you don’t always have to buy new,” Keating states in a press release.
Donations can be dropped off ahead of the event – just reach out to arrange a drop-off location. All leftover items will be donated to Hope House Guelph for individuals in need.
The event, from 7 to 9pm, is free to attend, and all are welcome.
