Marion and Allan Wylie of Clifford are proud of all their children, but were extraordinarily excited to learn that their son Perry Bast and their daughter-in-law Bev Bast had both earned the Queen’s Jubilee Medal this year. Perry is the son of Marion Wylie and the late Glenn Bast.

Marion and Allan attended the ceremony in Strathroy with grandchildren Jacob and Katie Bast on July 25 to see Captain Perry Bast and his wife Captain Bev Bast awarded the medals.

At 14, Perry started as an Air Cadet in Listowel. For over 33 years, he has served in a variety of ways in the cadets and is currently the area cadet for Western Ontario.

For 32 years, Bev has served as an Army Cadet. Ten years ago, she created and has continued to organize Peacekeeper Park Adventure Camp for challenged youth.
