Classic thriller comes to Fergus Grand Theatre

She is alone and she is blind. The award-winning thriller Wait Until Dark is coming to the stage of the Fergus Grand Theatre March 27 to 30.

The production will support the Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington’s shoe program and the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

A sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match.

They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are much interested in, to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy.

Sam had apparently been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the Canadian border, not knowing that sewn inside were several grams of heroin.

When the woman is murdered the situation becomes more urgent.

The con man and his ex-convicts, through a cleverly constructed deception, convince Susy that the police have implicated Sam in the woman’s murder, and the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence.

This is the final production of the 2013-14 season for Vision Theatre Productions, which to date has donated more than $40,000 to local charities and community groups.

This year Vision Theatre Productions is looking forward to assisting both the Community Resource Centre and the Centre Wellington Food Bank. Donations to the Centre Wellington Food Bank will be accepted during the run of the show and can be left at the box office during the performance.

This year’s production features the directing talents of Jennifer Jensen, who has been involved with community theatre in Centre Wellington and area for nearly 20 years.
