Church hosts St. James Day celebration

St. James Anglican Church hosts its third annual Celebration of St. James Day on July 20 in the Butterfly Garden overlooking the Grand River from 11am to 5pm with an exciting and varied program.

A highlight of the program will be the ribbon cutting ceremony by Mayor Ross-Zuj in celebration of the Butterfly Hall with its exquisite butterfly and nature murals by Kellianne Land.

Throughout the day a variety of musical entertainment will be provided including, Taize music and readings, contemporary church music, the youth band “17 Excuses” and the “Backstage Boys” whose program includes upbeat vocals with an intermittent invitation to “sing-along.”

There will be face painting, children’s crafts, story-telling, and a magician.

Gary Bryant and Al Koop return to walk participants  through fascinating local history as only they can with wit, humour and music.

There is no admission fee for this event or the activities.

St James Anglican Church is located at 171 Queen St E.
