One of the first church congregations in this community was formed in 1854.

The Balmsville Meeting House was the first building to house this Scottish Presbyterian  group.

The present stone building of the Mimosa United church is standing now 150 years later as a testimony to the initiative of these early pioneers.

The present congregation, several of whom are descendants of the original settlers, will be celebrating  the first 150 years with special events  for the community throughout the year.

All are welcome to attend.

Celebrate Family Day at  Mimosa Community Family Games Night, Feb. 15 from 7 to 10pm at Mimosa United Church, 5980 Wellington Road 26.

The event will include an Xbox video games room, euchre, crokinole, Scrabble, train dominoes, free babysitting room with games for the little ones and prizes for largest family group attending.

Lunch provided with no charge, free will offering if desired.

For more information or  to RSVP, contact jswitzer@sentex.net or call 519-855-4201.
