Christmas house tour this weekend
The Harriston Curling Club will host its fourth annual Christmas Rocks House Tour on Dec. 3.
Over the years the fundraiser has helped the club improve the local curling rink and lounge.
This year the tour runs from 11am to 5pm and feature five decorated homes and an old cheese factory turned into a church.
The sites are all in the Harriston and Clifford area, and tickets include a map with a suggested visiting order.
Starting in Clifford is a two-storey century home decorated in a contemporary and traditional style. New owners of the former Reidt home moved in this summer and are excited to take part in this year’s tour.
In Harriston, another two-storey century home has been decorated by a couple with a passion for the season.
Just up the road is the Crossroads Community Church.
The former Canada Packers cheese plant was transformed into one of the largest and active church congregations in Minto. The church has a large modern sanctuary with a large and unique foyer. A new bistro style lounge will open for the tour.
A few blocks away is a custom built home designed for barrier free access.
Just out side of Harriston is a home encompassing two family businesses. After 28 years of family living and several additions, the old home is ready to be displayed on the home tour.
The final home, also outside of Harriston, is a sidesplit. Each room is decorated in its own colour scheme, with items collected over the years.
Those on the tour are invited to stop by the Harriston Curling Club for a complementary glass of wine, cheese and home baked goodies.
Tickets can be purchased at the Harriston Home Hardware, Leslie Motors, and Prescription Shoppe Pharmacy in Palmerston - or at the curling club on Dec. 3.
