Christmas at the Station on Dec. 4

The Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum Association again invites the community to celebrate Christmas at the Station and Silent Auction on Dec. 4.

Christmas at the Station runs from 7 to 9pm and offers the chance to celebrate Christmas a bit early and be served in the historic Palmerston station, at 166 William St.

Admission is $5 for the event which includes a come-and-go wine and cheese, featuring a silent auction.

The silent auction will be held throughout the evening with bids being accepted until 8:45pm and winners announced at 9pm.

Auction items were donated by local businesses and individual museum supporters.

The evening is a fundraiser for the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum Association, a volunteer, not-for-profit organization committed to celebrating Palmerston’s heritage as a railway town.

Recent months have seen much activity, including the acquisition and continuing restoration of a CN caboose, continuing development of the Lions Heritage Park by the Palmerston Lions Club, and completion of the extensive yard rehabilitation project.

Proceeds from this event will support the museum association’s current projects which includes completing the caboose renovation and the acquisition of additional rolling stock and historical memorabillia.
