Children’s Foundation charity golf tournament raises at least $50,000
WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington raised more than $50,000 at its 31st annual Fore Our Kids Golf Tournament on June 19 – a record for the event.
The money supports Foundation programs connecting local children and youth with opportunities meant to build a sense of belonging and help them reach their potential.
“What started out as a gloomy, rainy day turned into a sunny day filled with impact and fun,” said Foundation community engagement manager Jodi Carreiro.
More than 140 golfers attended Victoria Park East Golf Club for the event, presented by Joe Migliaccio, a local Desjardins Insurance agent/owner, and long-time supporter and former board chair of the foundation.
Carreiro thanked golfers, sponsors, volunteers and donors “for showing up in all different ways to support this tournament.”
Golfers enjoyed contests, an online silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and an evening celebration.
