Chic Gamine coming to River Run Centre

River Run Centre presents Chic Gamine, a Winnipeg and Montreal-based vocal quintet that has rocketed to musical fame.

Hot on the heels of the album Chic Gamine, the group is touring with a stop in Guelph  Jan. 29 at 8pm.

The five musicians have been performing independently for over a decade. As Chic Gamine, they have created a unique stage presence and performing style that is frequently described as breathtaking. Singing in English and French, the group is comprised, completely coincidentally, of names beginning with the letter A: Ariane Jean, Adrina Turenne, Alexa Dirks, Annick Brémault, and drummer and percussionist Alexandre Sacha Daoud.

With only Daoud’s solo percussion arrangements as their instrumental back-up, the vocalists draw on their French-Canadian heritage, using their voices – mostly in a cappella fashion.

The group has performed throughout North America including the Winnipeg Folk Festival and the California Strawberry Festival, has opened for the legendary Smokey Robinson.

Tickets are on sale through the River Run Centre box office. Adult ticket prices range from $22 to $30 with discounts available for students and seniors. As part of the eyeGO programme, high school students may purchase tickets at the box office for only $5 each.

Tickets may be purchased at riverrun.ca, by phone at 519-763-3000 or in person at 35 Woolwich Street, Guelph.
