CHESNEY, John Robert – January 1, 1939 – July 11, 2015  - The Chesney family is sad to inform you of the sudden passing of John in the early morning of July 11, 2015 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.  John leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years Vicky and their three children – Joanne (Victor Lawson) of Kentucky, Carolyn (Robert Drost) of Inverhaugh and Veronica of Ottawa.  John is also survived by his sister Joyce McCann and sisters in law Mary Chesney, Mary Atkinson, Stella Magadzia as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Harry Chesney and sisters Shirley Grant and Fay Basher. John served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 26 years and was later employed by the Waterloo Region District School Board for 19 years. He enjoyed 14 glorious years of retirement.  Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N. Cambridge where the family received friends on Thursday July 16, 2015 from 10-11 am.  A Celebration of life was held immediately following in the funeral home chapel at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to Lisaard House or Haven House would be appreciated by the family.
