ERIN – Amendments are being proposed to the Credit Valley – Toronto and Region – Central Lake Ontario (CTC) source protection plan to include updates to the Erin drinking water system. The public is invited to provide comments in writing up to 5pm on Jan. 22.

The current drinking water supply for the Erin drinking water system is sourced from groundwater and supplied through two municipal wells.

To address existing water demands and future growth projections, the town has proposed adding a new well to their drinking system.

This has resulted in new wellhead protection areas within Erin.

The proposed amended CTC source protection plan can be found at ctcswp.ca with hardcopy versions available at the following locations during regular business hours:

  • Credit Valley Conservation: 1255 Old Derry Road, Mississauga; and

- Town Hall: 5684 Trafalgar Road, Hillsburgh.

Comments must be submitted in writing by 5pm on Jan. 22 and be addressed to the town’s source protection manager Behnam Doulatyari.

Those interested or looking for more information can email ctcswp@cvc.ca or  visit the CTC’s website at ctcswp.ca.
