Changes for Centre Wellington Singers
The Centre Wellington Singers said farewell to Louise Elder, the group’s director for the past nine years.
Elder has pushed the singers to grow beyond their comfort zones and members say they will miss her professionalism and friendship. Elder is heading to the east coast of Canada for a new adventure.
In September, the CW Singers began practicing under new director, Emily Petrenko, who is well known in the area as a teacher of voice and piano, as the director of the Elora Youth Singers and as a member of the choir at St. John the Evangelist in Elora.
The annual Christmas concert has been changed to a Saturday this year. On Nov. 29 at 3pm at Melville United Church the singers will present A Parade of Christmas Music.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased from choir members, at the door or by calling 519-843-5419.
