Chamber nominations open for 2010 awards of excellence

Plans are “moo-ving” forward for the annual Centre Welling­ton Chamber of Commerce Awards of Excellence.

This year’s theme,  Centre Wellington – Outstand­ing in Our Field will be on April 22. 

Chamber president Michael Weinstein said, “We realize our township has a significant rural compon­ent so at this year’s event we will be having some fun with our extensive and amazing agri­cultural sector.”

Nominations are open and the chamber encourages township residents to submit a nomination for any of the 14 awards.

The categories includes: Agricultural and Agri Business award, Business Beautifica­tion, Business of the Year (fewer than and more than 15 employees), Citizen of the Year, Community Award of Merit, Corporate Citizen of the Year, Cultural and Arts Award of Merit, Customer Service Excellence Award, Environ­men­tal Excellence award, Sport Achievement award, Tourism Impact award, Youth Citizen of the Year – Alvin Shortt award, and Youth Entre­preneur of the Year award.

Business reaching  25-and 40-year milestones should contact the chamber.
