Centre Wellington receives $748,721 from OLG
SAULT STE. MARIE- Centre Wellington recently received $748,721 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for hosting Elements Casino Grand River.
This is the OLG’s second quarter (July 1 to Sept. 30) non-tax gaming revenue payment to the township.
Since December 2003, Centre Wellington has received more than $32.9 million in non-tax gaming revenue.
These payments are made under an equitable formula that determines the funds communities receive for hosting a gaming facility and are based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue that is consistent across all sites in Ontario.
OLG funds
OLG provides the Ontario government with its largest source of non-tax revenue from government business enterprises.
In 2018-19, this amounted to $2.47 billion.
