Celtics take home silver medal
The Centre Wellington Celtics midget team celebrated a silver medal at the Ontario Basketball Association Championships in division 13 on May 25.
The tournament was played in Milton beginning on May 23.
After losing the first game to Oxford 42-36, the Celtics went on to defeat teams from Timmins 34-33, MUMBA#2 from Markham 47-45 and the Guelph Phoenix#2 55-36 to qualify for the final.
The Celtics lost to their nemesis, Oxford, but not without a great effort, officials say, adding the weekend’s success was truly a team effort.
