Celebrate Sunrise on June 14

On Sunday, June 14 from 1:30-4:30pm, Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre will be welcoming the public to “Celebrate Sunrise!”

Guests are invited to enjoy an afternoon on Sunrise’s 102-acre farm, and witness first-hand the incredible, positive impact of Sunrise programs.

They will be able to watch a musical ride and a therapeutic riding lesson demonstration, hear testimonials by riders and parents, and tour the beautiful facilities and gardens.

Since 1982, Sunrise has been changing the lives of children and adults with special needs in our community by empowering them to reach their full potential.

Customized therapeutic riding lessons, led by Canadian certified instructors, help riders to build specific physical and cognitive skills. Sunrise also provides a variety of recreation, camp and life skills programs, and is the only accredited residential Instructor Training Centre in Canada.

“Celebrate Sunrise!” is a cornerstone fundraising event for Sunrise’s year-round therapy programs, and an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of Sunrise riders, and the volunteers and supporters that make these programs possible.

The catered event will include fabulous food prepared by local chef Jeff Sample and cookbook author Emily Richards.

Special guests Tommy Hunter, Canada’s Country Gentleman and Jeff Tiessen, Paralympic medalist, will be on hand to meet and greet guests.

Robert Milburn, “Auctioneer Extraordinaire”, will be leading the exciting live auction.   The more reserved bidder will enjoy a silent auction with many fantastic prizes.

Auction highlights include a catered cruise for 4 on Georgian Bay, special getaway packages, hand-made quilts, theatre and Blue Jays tickets, and so much more.

A sneak preview of these fabulous prizes can be found at www.sunrise-therapeutic.ca/events.

Sunrise is located at 6920 Concession 1, Puslinch, just 10 minutes from Guelph and Cambridge.

Tickets are $50, including a partial tax receipt, and can be purchased through SNAP’d TIX.   Please call 519-837-0558 x31 or x35 for more information.
