FERGUS – The Victoria Park Seniors Centre is taking full advantage of peach season by hosting a peach social for seniors in the area.
The event will take place on Aug. 14 at 1:30pm at the centre (150 Albert St. W.).
“It’s similar to our strawberry social,” supervisor of senior services Kathryn Morgan told the Advertiser.
Entertainment will be provided by in-house musical groups.
The event comes at a cost of $8 per person and all are welcome to attend.
After an afternoon of toe tapping music, guests can enjoy a homemade peach dessert.
“It’s a fun afternoon with socialization and music,” she said. “It’s just an enjoyable time.”
“We do ask [guests] to pre-register so that when our volunteers are preparing the dessert, they know how many to prepare for ahead of time,” Morgan said.
Those interested can pre-register by calling 519-846-9691 x204.
She noted these events have great turnouts as “we usually fill our hall.”
