In 2019, she was awarded the Ontario Catholic Trustees Association’s Trustee Award of Merit in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Catholic education.
“A tireless advocate for students with disabilities and special education needs, Dupuis also serves on the board of directors for KidsAbility Centre for Child Development,” WCDSB officials stated in a press release.
Dupuis said she is humbled to serve as chair and looks forward to working closely with the other trustees “and our tremendous staff to further our shared commitment to student success and well-being through Catholic education.
“It is a privilege to assist our board in enhancing such a vibrant community rooted in faith, inclusion, and academic excellence,” she continued in the release.
Gazzola will serve as vice chair alongside Dupuis.

Another long-serving member of the WCDSB, Gazzola has been a trustee for over three decades, including previous terms as chair and vice chair.
“He is a dedicated advocate for Catholic education, currently holding the position of vice-president of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association (OCSTA) and is a committee member of the Canadian Catholic School Trustees’ Association (CCSTA) Toonies for Tuition in unfunded provinces,” WCDSB officials stated.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as vice chair and continue supporting Catholic education in our community,” Gazzola stated.
“I look forward to working alongside our chair, trustees, and staff to foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.”
As chair and vice chair, Dupuis and Gazzola will focus on the implementation of the multi-year strategic plan, budget and policy oversight, and on ensuring student achievement and well-being, officials state.
