Car show rolls into museum on Aug. 30

On Aug. 30, the Wellington County Museum and Archives is hosting its 34th annual Antique and Classic Car Show.

Last year, over 90 cars were on the front lawn. The Fergus Brass Band will once again welcome the parade of cars at 1pm, which will be on display for the rest of the afternoon.

Visitors can wander the site and enjoy antique and vintage cars and the sounds of music from the 1950s and the ’60s. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold drinks will be available from the M&M charity barbecue, with proceeds to Groves Hospital CT Plus campaign.

Awards will be given this year to the car with the best interior, best paint job and best in show” as voted by visitors.   Joining the show for the first time with a unique engine display are members of the High Country Antique Power Club.

Bring a lawn chair for an afternoon of family activities at a special festival day admission of $2 per person.

The Museum is located on County Rad 18between Fergus and Elora. For further information call 846-0916 extension. 221.

To enter a car in the parade, assemble at the Fergus Sportsplex by 12:30pm on Aug. 30. Registration is free and takes place on the Museum grounds.
