CAO optimistic after meeting with MOECC

Interim CAO Murray Clarke expressed optimism follow-ing a Nov. 27 meeting with officials from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change about upgrading capacity at the local water treatment plant.

Requirements for interim capacity approvals for a local wastewater system were slated to be part of the discussion.

“I think there was progress made,” Clarke told Mapleton councillors on Nov. 28.

Clark added he has asked the consultants working on the project to make a presentation to council early in 2018 “to bring you up to date.”
