Canada Day party comes early in Harriston

Residents here will get a jump on Canada Day celebrations this year.

The annual Canada Day celebration and fireworks at Crossroads Life Church will be held on June 26.

The event, which begins at 6pm, will feature live entertainment, children’s jump houses, and family affordable food, ending with a fireworks display at dusk.

The event will be held at 99 Young Street West, across from the water tower in Harriston.

Crossroads Life Church will receive $3,600 in federal funding for it’s 2016 community Canada Day party.

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater announced on June 17 the church was among five organizations in the riding to receive funding through the Department of Canadian Heritage’ Celebrate Canada program.

Also in Minto, the Clifford Classic Truck Show kicks off on Canada Day, July 1. The event, which continues until July 3, is the largest Classic and Antique Big Rig show in Ontario.

On-site camping is available and the Rotary Club food booth is open all weekend.
