Butterfly Garden harvest tea

A harvest tea will be held in the Butterfly Garden at St. James Anglican Church here on Sept. 17 from 2 to 4pm.

In Canada, if you need an ambulance you call 911. In Bangladesh, you send a message for either a bicycle or boat ambulance.

Many areas of South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa have limited access to hospitals and clinics – posing grave risks to women during the birthing process.

Women die daily who could have been saved with access to proper medical care. Bicycle and boat ambulances are used to address this problem.

This year the local Primates World Relief and Development Fund groups from St. James Anglican Church in Fergus and St. John’s Anglican Church in Elora are hosting a tea fundraiser with all proceeds donated to the boat ambulance initiative in Bangladesh.

In case of inclement weather, the hall on site will be used instead of the garden.

Admission is $8 for adults and free for children under five. For tickets or information, call 519-843-2141 or 519-843-1846.
