Business Centre Guelph-Wellington seeking community members for board

GUELPH – The Business Centre Guelph-Wellington (BCGW) is seeking people to join its board of directors.

The BCGW has helped startups and existing small businesses since 1999.

BCGW provides a range of business exploration, advisory and development programs.

Since inception, BCGW’s programs have led to the creation of over 10,000 jobs.

The agency is seeking applications from community members who want to make an impact by helping to define the business centre’s vision, strategy and governance practice.

Of particular interest for this recruitment campaign – expertise in fundraising, non-profit revenue generation, government relations and entrepreneurship experience.

“Diversity of thought is extremely important to us and we strongly encourage applications from priority groups such as BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+ and immigrants to Canada,” officials state.

Board members participate in 10 board meetings per year, serve on one board committee and attend BCGW community events as often as possible.

Terms are two years.

Board members provide value through active participation in providing BCGW foresight (setting and monitoring strategic direction) and oversight (ensure compliance with agreements and policies, fiscal responsibility).
