Bursaries and scholarships were presented at Grand River Raceway

Grand River Race­way and the board of directors of the Grand River Agricultural Society have announced the recipients of the 2010 bursary and scholarship program for local students pursuing agricultural studies.

 

The program is designed to provide financial assistance for students residing in Wellington and Perth Counties, and the Region of Waterloo, who are entering, or currently enrolled in, college or university agri­cul­tural programs.

Ten awards of $1,500 were awarded to the following individuals:

– Steven Jackson, Uni­ver­sity of Guelph, Agricul­tural Dip­loma;

– Becky Koeslag, Ridgetown College, Horti­cul­tural Diploma

– Trevor Koeslag, Ridge­town College, Agricultural Diploma

– Laura Austin, University of Guelph, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture

– Courtney Schott, Ontario Veterinary College, DVM program;

– Rebecca Grose, Kempt­ville College Assoc., Diploma in Agriculture – Equine Option;

– Anjelka Bosnjak Uni­versity of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College;

– Amanda Rosborough, Uni­versity of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College

– Vanessa Dirksen, Univer­sity of Guelph, Agricultural Diploma; and

– Adam Totafurno, Uni­versity of Guelph Bachelor of Science in Agriculture

The recipients were recog­nized at a presentation at Grand River Raceway following race six of the racing card on Sept. 10.
