Councillors here are ready to enter into a boundary road maintenance agreement with Halton Hills for the Erin Halton Townline (32 Side Road) from the Eramosa-Erin Town Line to Trafalgar Road.

In his report to council, road superintendent Larry Van Wyck explained that this is formalizing an existing policy in the town.

“There is no additional financial impact as a result of this agreement.”

ln 1975, the Township of Erin agreed to divide the responsíbilities for the Boundary Road (32 Side Road) with the Town of Halton Hills.

The Township of Erin was responsible for Boundary Road from West of the Eramosa Town Line to Third Line. The Town of Halton Hills was responsible for Boundary Road from Third Line to Regional Road No. 3 (Trafalgar Road).

The agreement relates to maintenance of the boundary road only. Capital costs will be cost shared only with the approval of both councils, including a cost sharing formula.

Erin councillors endorsed the agreement.

Van Wyck added that a similar agreement was endorsed by Halton Hills council in early May.
