Body found along trail in Erin identified as missing Orangeville woman

PP have identified the deceased female discovered on the Elora Cataract Trail on April 1 as Paulette Davey, 58, of Orangeville who was reported missing in February.

Many residents were shocked last week when they heard a body was discovered near a local trail.

One week after the discovery, locals were still waiting for more information about the deceased female.

On April 1 at about 4:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report that the body of a female had been located just off of the Elora Cataract Trailway in the Town of Erin.

Police said the body, which was concealed by a tree, was located by a man walking his dog.

In an April 1 press release from the OPP stated. “Police do not suspect foul play at this time and the investigation is still continuing.”

Police did not provide any more information prior to the Advertiser’s print deadline.

Within an hour after the Advertiser's print edition deadline, police released additional details.

Police identified Paulette Davey who was reported as missing to the Orangeville Police Service on February 25, 2015.

A post mortem was conducted and the cause of death has been confirmed as non-suspicious in nature.
