Bird, John (Jack) Alfred; Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, after a short illness, on May 29, 2009 in his 86th year. Jack will be tremendously missed by his loving wife of 64 years Rosemary (Walker). Forever remembered by his children John C. (Gloria), Gerald A., Thomas (Linda), Rick (Ursula), Lauren Gannon (Al) and Russell A. (Patti). Fondly remembered by his 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Jack was born on July 15, 1923 in Pilkington Township and spent his entire life there farming and raising his family with his devoted wife Rosemary. Friends were received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church St. East in Elora, on Monday, June 1st from 1-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral Service was conducted at Bethany United Church on Tuesday, June 2nd at 2pm, with visitation from 1pm. Interment to take place at the Elora Cemetery.
