Belfountain Salamander Festival

The Hamlet of Belfountain is hosting the 17th annual Salamander Festival on Sept. 28 from 10am to 3pm.

The festival is co-sponsored by Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) and Belfountain Community Organization in partnership with the Belfountain Village Church, Belfountain Public School and the Town of Caledon.

Activities take place in the Hamlet and Belfountain Conservation Area.

At the conservation area there will be:

- Birds of Prey from Mountsberg Raptor Centre from 11am to 3pm;

- real, live salamanders

- fly-tying activities with the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club;

- Kids Eco Zone Activity Centre

- electrofishing demos; and

- Discover River Critters

At the Halmet of Belfountain there will be a farmers’ and artisans’ market, silent auction, live entertainment and a new ‘Local Food Court.’

Admission into Belfountain Conservation Area is free for walk-ins with a coupon from CVC’s booth in the hamlet. Parking fees apply at the Belfountain Conservation Area. For information visit www.creditvalleyca.ca/salamanderfestival.
