Beirnes, Byron Albert (Barney); It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Barney in his 78th year. Dearly beloved husband of Carolyn (Demmans). Predeceased by his former wife Leslie Ann Beirnes (Giles). Loving father to Kevin (Cathy) of Barrie, Dale (Lisa) of Fergus, Stephen (Yolande) of Courtenay B.C. and Jon (Bernadette) of Bradford. Loving stepfather to Peter (Mary) of Fergus, Brian of Fergus, Bruce (Roxy) of Waterloo, Karl (Brenda) of Arthur and Kim of Elora. Predeceased by David Demmans. Dear brother of Shirley Fawcett of Toronto, Ron (Joan) of Calgary Alta and Ernie (Yvonne) of Kitchener. Dear grandfather of ten. Visitation for family and friends will take place at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Thursday, July 4th, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Legion service will be held for Barney on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 5th, 2013 at the Fergus Legion Br. 275 – 500 Blair St., Fergus from 10:00-11:00 am, a funeral Service will follow at the Legion at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barney’s memory may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 275.
