BECK, Johan passed away peacefully in his 94th year on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at the Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, Ontario. Johan was the beloved husband of Mary McLellan since 2005. Predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Britta Carlsson in 1998. Father of Ann-Ida Beck (Rick Watt) of Markdale, and Charlotte (Darryl Breadner) of Warsaw. Morfar of Sebastion Beck-Watt (McKenzie Gott) of Ottawa, Andreas Beck-Watt (Danelle Bosman) of France, and, Logan Breadner and Reese Breadner of Warsaw. Loved member of the McLellan family – Patti-Jo McLellan Shaw and Jim Shaw, Jamie and Chris McLellan, Pam, Jaz, Carson & Madison Zmija, Adam, Audrey, Regan & Selina McLellan, Justin McLellan, and Erin McLellan (Justin Coburn) Johan was born in Uddevalla, Sweden on August 13, 1924, the youngest of eight. He was predeceased by his siblings and his parents Ida (Andreasdotter) and Johan Bäck. Johan was the President of BT Lift, a Swedish manufacturer of lift trucks in Canada. He served as a consultant for new business development in Kazakhstan following his retirement. Johan was an avid tennis player until his late eighties and enjoyed extensive travel and theatre. He spoke several languages and was an eloquent writer. Johan had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed sketching; he was especially well known for his cartoon drawings. A private family memorial service and celebration of Johan’s life will be held. Donations to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
