Beattie, Melissa Irene Maud (nee Sullivan); Passed away, in her 97th year, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Monday, March 24, 2008, after a long and active life. Predeceased by her husband Douglas (October 2001) and her son Norman (February 2007). Left with beautiful memories are her grandchildren, Aaron (Lisa), Dean (Sydney), Ryan, and Lauren and her husband Brad. Missing her also are her three great-grandchildren,- her greatest joy - Brandon, Darick, and Addi. Dear mother-in-law and good friend of Nancy. She was a long time resident of Eden Mills, Rene lived the past 6 years at Riverside Glen. As a sports enthusiast, she could always be found watching baseball, curling, and golf. She golfed and curled well into her 80’s as a member of the Guelph Country Club. An avid reader, scrabble player and crossword problem solver. Grandma Beattie was an inspiration to all and will be sadly missed by those who knew her. A Memorial Service was held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St., N., Guelph, on Saturday, March 29th, 2008 at 11am. Cremation has taken place.
