BBC filming crew enjoys stay and snowstorm departure

Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj noted the BBC was in Centre Wellington recently filming for its Empire Series.

“We had a lovely celidh at Melville United Church in Fergus,” she said, adding crew members enjoyed their time immensely.

“Our tourism coordinator Deb Dalziel was an excellent host to their participation in our community, and they got what they wanted, which was a snowstorm,” Ross-Zuj said.

She said council knew what it was like at the opening at the 8th Line bridge.

“They were out there on the same day – filming.”

She added, “they were off to Jamaica that night and they were quite pleased to be getting onto the plane.”

Ross-Zuj said the opening of the 8th Line bridge was a great achievement.

“It is a bridge that has  been admired by many, many people. And now traffic has begun.”
