The RBC branch in Fergus has a message for everyone in the community: “We need your help.”
The RBC Fergus branch has been challenged by the Elmira branch to raise food donations for the local foodbank and the stakes – or is that steaks – are high.
The branch that collects the most non-perishable food items prior to Thanksgiving will have the food from both branches delivered to their local food bank.
So, if Centre Wellington residents are generous enough, Centre Wellington Food Bank clients could receive extra bounty for which to be thankful.
The Fergus branch is planning to place a poster at each of the three grocery stores in Centre Wellington and also in the local branch.
RBC officials stated, “Again, we need quantity to win.” They noted, “We’ve already received a case of 24 juice bottles and 48 cans of soup, so we’re starting with 72 items.”
They ask area residents to help by placing the contest on their Facebook and Twitter accounts to encourage family and friends to bring food items to the Fergus RBC branch at the corner of St. David and St. Andrew Street.
