Barrie man faces cocaine charges

ERIN – On May 23 at about 12:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 22 stopped a vehicle for an alleged driving violation.

“As the vehicle was rolling to a stop, police observed the occupants throw a white object out of the car,” stated an OPP press release.

“During the investigation, police retrieved the object which was a clear plastic bag containing several smaller bags filled with a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The two occupants of the vehicle were also in possession of a large amount of Canadian and American currency.”

Thien Van Pham, 36, of Barrie, was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and was to appear in Guelph court for a bail hearing on May 24.
