MOUNT FOREST – Earlier this month, the Auxiliary to Louise Marshall Hospital made its annual donation to the Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) Foundation, presenting a cheque for $19,500 from the proceeds of fundraising efforts over the course of the year.

Established in 1922, the Auxiliary to LMH has a long-standing history of supporting the hospital in Mount Forest.

This group commits time and effort to helping at the hospital; volunteering as greeters and with way finding, supporting various departments within the hospital and convening the hospital gift shop.

It hosts several fundraisers in the community throughout the year, including a spring luncheon, a fall bazaar, an annual quilt raffle and operating a booth at the farmers’ market.

The auxiliary has donated more than $341,000 to support capital projects and essential medical equipment at LMH.

Its recent donation of $19,500 will go towards a new bed and mattress for the palliative care suite, as well as a new med fridge for the recovery room.

For more information about the auxiliary, stop by the gift shop, located just off the lobby at LMH, to speak with a member.

“We are so grateful for the tireless efforts of the auxiliary team and cannot thank them enough for their commitment and dedication to supporting Louise Marshall Hospital,” said LMH Foundation executive director Amy Van Huss.
