Polar bear run raises funds for local church
ELORA – Grace Christian Fellowship hopes to send 16 people – 10 youth and six adults – to Panama in March and held a polar bear run/walk on Jan. 27 as a fundraiser.
Francis Lane in Elora to become pedestrian walkway
ELORA – Kristy Hillis and Don Kogan are continuing with their plan to beautify downtown Elora. On Jan. 29, Centre Wellington council agreed to sell Francis Lane to Kat Florence Corp. Ltd., Hillis’ business, for $160,000 to create a pedestrian walkway.
Council directs staff to explore childcare centre in Belwood
ELORA – Mayor Shawn Watters worked hard at the Jan. 29 council meeting to convince his fellow councillors to approve his motion. Watters wanted to direct township staff to collect information and identify the needs and challenges of establishing a childcare centre in Belwood.
