Audition call at Century Church Theatre

Century Theatre Guild will be holding auditions for the pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, by Jo Phenix, on June 25.

All ages are welcome, but children must be able to read from a script.

This is a musical comedy, so an ability to sing, either solo or as part of a group, is important.

There are 13 principal roles for adults and youth, and 15 ensemble roles for all ages. Ensemble members will play multiples characters, and take part in up to 12 songs and production numbers, and adults who would like to participate but not as solo singers are encouraged to try out for these roles.

Phenix will direct, with Doug MacDougall as musical director, Melissa Robertson as choreographer, Geri Vanderende as stage manager, and Trish Hamilton taking charge of costumes.

Rehearsals will start in September, with shows dates Nov. 25 to Dec. 4.

The auditions will be held at Century Church Theatre, 72 Trafalgar Road, Hillsburgh.

Children up to Grade 8 should come at 9:30am, with older students and adults arriving for 10:30am.

Auditions sides (scripts) for anyone interested in a speaking role are available by emailing jophenix@sympatico.ca; children still in school should give their age so the appropriate script can be sent.

It would be helpful for anyone planning to audition to inform Phenix by email.
