Auctioneers ready to meet, compete on weekend

There will be some fast-talking here Feb. 19 to 22 when members of the Auctioneers Association of Ontario gather for their 25th annual convention.

Most of the events will take place at the Delta London Armouries, but the feature event, the Onta­rio Auctioneers championship competition will be at the Gardner Galleries.

The pinnacle of the weekend for many will be the Ontario Auctioneers cham­pi­on­ship competition on Feb. 22at the Gardner Galleries, at 11am. The audience will hear a variety of auction chants and selling styles.”

The convention concludes with a banquet on Saturday evening at which awards and honours are presented, and Krista Richards will hand over the president’s gavel to Len Metcalfe, of Metcalfe Auc­tions, in Mildmay.
