Auction to help preserve heritage building

Antiques, vacations, art work, gourmet dinners and more will go on the auction block on Nov. 17,  with proceeds going to preserve Dublin Street United Church, a heritage landmark in Guelph since 1876.

A silent auction will kick off the event, starting in the church hall at 68 Suffolk Street West at 6:30pm, followed by a live auction at 8:30pm.

The $10 admission ticket includes gourmet desserts and refreshments.

In addition to the congregation’s activities, the building offers space to more than 60 community groups and hundreds of individuals use it every week.

The last auction in 2009 raised $15,000, which helped pay for heating repairs.

The 2012 auction proceeds will help pay for roof repairs and other urgent maintenance. For tickets contact the church office at 519-821-0610 x 221.
