Arts gallery presents Held Between Stillness and Change

HARRISTON – A new show is coming to the Minto Arts Gallery titled Held Between Stillness and Change by Brigitte Huber.

She is a Canadian artist who draws her inspiration from the great outdoors.

Fascinated by plants, people, and open landscapes since childhood, she has nurtured a lifelong love of nature – a passion she shares through her artwork.

Huber studied graphic design, and later became a psychotherapist, while also marrying and raising a family.

After retiring, she returned fully to this calling, dedicating herself to painting.

“Huber’s art is a celebration of the natural world, a symphony of light and color that resonates with all who behold it,” officials say.

Working in oil, watercolor and mixed media, Huber captures the beauty, texture and spirit of the natural world.

Held Between Stillness and Change explores the tension between serenity and beauty on one hand, and the more difficult, unsettling aspects of life on the other, officials add.

Guests will have the chance to meet Huber in the gallery at the opening night reception March 5 from 6:30 to 8pm.

The show began on March 5 and will run till March 27 at the Minto Arts Gallery.

The gallery can be found on the third floor of the Harriston Library (88 Mill St.) and is wheelchair accessible.

Gallery hours include:

– Tuesdays 6 to 8pm;

– Wednesdays 2 to 4pm;

– Thursdays 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm;

– Fridays 2 to 4pm; and

– Saturdays 11 am to 1pm.
