Arthur grandfather wins $100,000 in LOTTO 6/49; plans to invest prize in grandchildren’s education
ARTHUR – Harvey Hutchison of Arthur won $100,000 in the LOTTO 6/49 Super Draw on Dec. 24.
Harvey, a 70-year-old retiree and regular lottery player with OLG, said he will use his windfall to invest in his grandkids’ education.
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Scugog Street in Port Perry.
“I play LOTTO 6/49 almost every week,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.
The LOTTO 6/49 Super Draw included 15 guaranteed prize draws of $100,000, in addition to the gold ball draw and classic draw.
Harvey said he checked his ticket at the store and discovered his major win. “I think the store clerk was even more excited than I was!” he recalled with a chuckle.
The father of three and grandfather of three told his family the news, and they were thrilled for him.
“This win is great for us,” he said, beaming.
