ARTHUR – Neutering feral cats is an important part of the work of Arthur Animal Rescue, which now has a new fundraising campaign to encourage people to make donations.

From now until the end of February, people can donate $20 to help the organization trap, neuter and release a feral or stray cat in the community.

Donors will be rewarded with naming rights to the cat, and are encouraged to name them after an ex, as while “Sometimes you can’t fix stupid … you can fix a cat.”

Arthur Animal Rescue suggests names such as Chad the Commitment-Phobe, Mike the Manchild and Joe the Jerk.

“You’ll receive a photo of your freshly ‘fixed ex,’ plus a tax receipt,” rescue officials promise.

A $20 donation covers humane trapping, a spay or neuter surgery, an ear tip to identify the cat has been fixed, a rabies vaccine, and safe return or relocation to a rural property.

“Feral cats are an ever-growing issue, and trap, neuter, return is the most humane effective solution,” officials state.

“Now, you can help reduce the population and get a little petty closure while you’re at it.”

All funds raised go directly to spaying and neutering local feral and stray cats.
