Art Gallery of Guelph holding first appraisal event on June 3

GUELPH – Does Grandma’s old rocking chair have value?

Is that really a Picasso you picked up at a garage sale?

The Art Gallery of Guelph is bringing in eight appraisers to assess and evaluate your prized possessions and unusual finds.

All are invited to bring personal treasures and heirlooms to the gallery for an Antiques Roadshow-style fundraising event run by the gallery’s volunteer association and organized by McMaster Fine Art.

The event takes place June 3 from noon to 4pm at the gallery at 358 Gordon Street in Guelph.

Appraisals are open to anyone, and tickets are $15 per item, with each ticket representing one verbal appraisal of an object.

Limited tickets are also available at the door for walk-ins.

Funds raised will go towards supporting the gallery’s collection development and acquisitions.
