Man charged with armed robbery
Suspect was 'unsuccessful' in theft attempt at Puslinch business: OPP
PUSLINCH – A Guelph man has been charged with armed robbery following an attempted theft at a local business on Saturday night.
Wellington County OPP officials say officers were called to a business on Brock Road South in Puslinch Township on Feb. 28 at about 8pm.
Police stated in a press release that a man "entered the business and demanded money from an employee while implying [he was] armed with a weapon.
"The attempt was unsuccessful and the suspect fled prior to police arrival. The victim did not sustain any injuries."
OPP officials say the man was later arrested by Toronto Police.
Ahmed Nur, 29, of Guelph, was charged with armed robbery and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
He was held for a bail hearing in Guelph on March 2.
