A 55 year-old supply teacher from here has had an independently made CD has just been nominated for a Juno award in the category of Children’s Album of the Year”
Gonna Keep Dancing, www.fatfleamusic.ca was performed by  singer-songwriter, and, children’s entertainer Eddie Douglas,
Putting poetry into musical motion for kids is a passion the Scottish-born singer has had trouble resisting since he started performing for children a decade ago.
The success of his debut recording, Alligator Ice Cream – Jelly Delight – a tribute to the poetry of Dennis Lee, provided the momentum to continue writing and recording music that he created for the words of others.
On Gonna Keep Dancing, Douglas takes kids on an imaginative and lively musical journey celebrating the verse of more of Canada’s best-loved children’s authors and poets.
A lively ensemble of musicians accompanies him.
Fourteen songs featuring the poems of such noted Canadian children’s authors as Jo Ellen Bogart, Loris Lesynski, Robert Munsch, and Charles Wilkins are offered on the CD.
